Frank Verkade explores the malleability of the human form through speculative body objects. The custom-made works are shaped using the body, which functions as both the origin of their form as well as the site on which they manifest. The designs reflect upon future symbiotic anatomies, connecting the human, animal and botanical kingdoms. Dominant in their shape and fit, the handmade objects force the wearer to explore undiscovered experiences and postures. Evolving in shape and scale they grow from an extension of the body into cultivated anatomies of their own.
